Kamisama here for our weekly finger pointing, laughing and awe at what other countries do. This week's post was inspired by Iola with her comment on my last post. She said : "omg. I thought peeing in the bushes while drunk was tough, But this .. you have to do sober ... in public. Eeeeee!"

Most of it is obviously drunken gibberish, but the words that gave me the idea were "in public". Which made me think of public toilets, which made me think of something my girlfriend told me once.

Boys usually have in their minds that really cute girls don't use the toilet. Well they know they do use it, biologically speaking it is logical to assume they do go once in a while. But guys don't like to think about it, it's a myth only seen in extreme circumstances.

Well girls in Japan like to keep that myth alive, so you will never hear them burp, fart, and they will possibly avoid to even go to the toilet unless they are at their limit. And if they do, you won't hear a sound.

Now the funny thing about all of this is that they continue to maintain that pure and perfect front even amongst each other !! Yes, that means in the public bathrooms of any public building, too ! And to help them do that, I present to you :

The Otohime (Sound Princess)

This little device will allow you to produce a sound when pressing the little button, so that people around your stall can't hear what you're doing. It can come in little music formats, but it is usually the sound of a toilet flushing, over and over, as if you're actually just flushing the toilet for fun. Men's toilets do not have those little devices. And as scum and proud to be, I don't see why they even bother to go in the stalls in the first place.

That's it for today folks !
Looking forward to your comments !
